Tanya Godwin
I am a clinical psychologist with 16 years experience working in mental health across a variety of different settings including NHS, voluntary and private sectors. My early work was primarily with working-age adults, but more recently I have specialised in working with children, teenagers, young adults and their families. I also have an interest and significant clinical experience in working with autistic young people. I have two young daughters, one of whom is currently in year one at Hill View.
My primary interest in becoming a governor is to ensure that the mental health and wellbeing of children remains paramount whilst they are at school. I know, from my work experience with children and young people, how much of a difference school can make to children’s mental health, and how much of a difference children’s mental health can make to their school experience and attainment. I therefore believe that children’s mental health and wellbeing should be prioritised by schools and I hope to use my skills and knowledge to support the SLT at Hill View in this important area.
